About Us
Welcome to Paradigm Futbol Club, a nonprofit youth soccer academy in Northern Virginia that champions European-Style merit-based approach to youth soccer. We strive to eliminate the challenges inherent in the Pay-to-Play model by offering a no-cost Travel Soccer program where all training, uniforms, coaching, and registration fees are fully covered. We blend our comprehensive, curriculum-based training—designed to strengthen every aspect of the game—with our family partnerships, community service initiatives, and academic mentorship programs to cultivate not only highly skilled soccer players but also the next generation of community leaders.
Mission
To develop complete youth soccer players through a merit-based program that values effort, teamwork, and respect — transforming athletes into future community leaders.
Vision
To be recognized as a premier academy that develops highly skilled soccer players while also fostering their academic, personal, and character growth, preparing them to be not only great athletes but also future community leaders.
The PFC Origin
PFC emerged from Kings United, a team of U7 kids playing recreational soccer at Annandale Boys and Girls Club. After a few successful seasons, the coach and assistant coach realized that the biggest impediment to the kids’ development was the lack of professional coaching. The head coach was from the Dominican Republic, grew up playing baseball, and had little exposure to soccer until high school--and later when his son began playing during recess at school. The assistant coach was familiar with the game but had never played at an organized level.
The coach and assistant coach decided that the most effective way to help the team was to step aside, transition it into a travel club, and let professional coaches do their job. During the transition, they experienced sticker shock at the cost of travel soccer. Undeterred, they managed to transfer most of the players and secure a 30% scholarship for those who qualified.
After a year and a half playing club soccer, many parents noticed that costs continued to rise significantly. While the coaching was a clear improvement over recreational soccer, it was not necessarily commensurate with the tuition. PFC is those parents’ attempt to change the paradigm.
